I've been a busy guy lately, and finally I can share with you some of the projects I've been working on! Some of them I already have shared, but I just want to put it all in this journal for ya!
This the big project I worked on for almost a year. I'm credited as Lead Storyboard Artist, Character Design, and Production Design. I finally got to watch it myself and despite some changes that occurred since it left my hands, I am still pretty happy and proud of this project. I storyboarded probably around 80% of this film, and I do have to say that they REALLY stuck to my boards. Perhaps if it's allowed, I will upload some sequences from the animatic! Some of the characters including the main character Bernard are based off of my final design. However I credit most of the design to Tim Moen, an awesome artist currently working with Disney TV. I guess it would be most accurate to say the characters are Tim's concepts in my style. And there are a lot of environmental and incidental elements that are my design as well. Long story short, this film has my stink all over it. I'd love to hear your feedback if you ever get a chance to see it! If you're in America, you can buy the movie at Walmart (it's Walmart exclusive).
John Lewis Christmas Advert 2013
Yeah! I got to work with the great Aaron Blaise and with the awesome studio Premise Entertainment on this one! I animated some of the background characters. The two birds hanging the ornament is all my animation, and I did most of the owl character except for the shot where you're looking from behind the owl. I also animated a lot of bits and pieces like head turns and tail wiggles. It was an AWESOME experience!
This was a teaser to help promote the Dawgtown project for production funding. I did all of the animation for Max, the main Pitbull character. It was a challenge to try and adapt to Justin Murphy's graffiti style for Max's design, but it a lot of fun, especially when we changed things up a little so I could do that long dialogue piece. Dialogue is always my favorite thing to animate. They are now on indiegogo if you are interested in supporting the project. igg.me/at/battledawg
Masters of Anatomy
I will be one of the artists in the awesome Masters of Anatomy book. There's still five days left to get the book from kickstarter! I really don't really have to do the hard sell on this, do I? Didn't think so. www.kickstarter.com/projects/1…
And of course I'm still working on the BAND comic series. I'm about halway through inking issue 6. That's been pretty slow working around all of my other jobs, but here's hoping that things will work themselves out to where I can jump back on the BAND-wagon (hahahaha! ...ugh) and get more of that out to you guys!
Anyway, hope all is well with you all! Have a great holiday, and again, if you get the chance to see Saving Santa, I would love to hear what you think! Saving Santa really is one of my "babies" so I would really like to get some feedback on it!
